Slow Down, to Speed Up

It's been a little slow on the photo front recently, finding the time to fit it in has been really difficult, which has frustrated me endlessly as it's the one thing I really want to spend my time doing.

I have, however, been putting together a new website, and trying to book in photo jobs. I have a wedding this Saturday, which K and I are doing together, so will hopefully have some photo's from that soon.
I may also be doing some next week, once I have the full details of those, I can say a bit more about them.

For now though, this is our Twitter

New Lens

I recently purchased a wide angle lens and I must say, I love it.

I got it mostly to start doing Interiors, but have been testing it out on other things whenever I get the chance.
It's been a bit slow on the photography front, as my normal job takes up far too much of my time, but these are a few of the testers

I also have a website now: http://www.monogramagency.wordpress.com/

And a Facebook Page: H&K Photography

Oh, and I'm on Twitter too: H_K_Photo

Street Walkin'

I rediscovered these pictures the other day.
I took them the end of last year, not long after Kevin had arrived actually. I think it was November, it was freezing cold, and we went wandering the streets near our house in search of any interesting places to take photos.
Needless to say, we didn't say outside very long, but we did manage to get these (it helps that he's a complete poser):

And he got one of me.

Tea Anyone?

I recently had the pleasure of shooting a tea party for a charity event Dan and Michele were holding in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care. It was a great day, the sun was shining, the bunting was in the trees, and loads of people turned up. It was also a success in terms of the money raised, so well done to Michele for that.

The ladies who came along to host the tea party have their own tea party business Secret Teas and they did an amazing job. With vintage crockery, outfits and style, it was perfect for the day.

These were some of my favourite pictures from the day

Alkham and Folkestone

While I'm on a roll with this blogging thing (it won't last I know, I'll be back to posting once a month soon), I thought I'd post a few of the pictures I took on a recent trip to Folkestone. We stayed at Alkham Court Farmhouse and B&B which is in the middle of Alkham Valley. It was the most amazing place, the owners are lovely and accommodating, and we were lucky enough to be the only guests for the weekend, so had the sauna and hot tub all to ourselves.

In Alkham Town, walking off the beaten path turned out to be the perfect thing to do, as we discovered St Anthony's Church hidden behind the houses. With graves dating back to the 18th century still visibe, and apparently ones from the 12th century having once been there, it was a fascinating place to photograph.

We also made a quick stop in Folkestone while waiting for the coach, so there are a few from there too.

Oaksmith Studios

I have often spoken to my friend Mauro about doing photo's with him. Today, we finally got round to it. Mauro has set up his business, Oaksmith Studio with friend and business partner Anna. We went round to do some promo shots for them.
They're both such great people, and so good at what they do, definitely two of the most creative people I've hung out with in a while. Their studio is located in an artists compound in Bermondsey and after being there for an hour or so, I wanted to move in. The place is beautiful and inspiring, especially the breathtaking London view from the roof terrace.
We took hundreds of pictures, that I still need to sort through and edit, but here are a few of my favourites, pretty much unedited.

Moon

And just because I can, here's another one, sorry for the wait Grayness.

Long Overdue

I've been taking lots of photo's, although still not enough for my liking, but haven't been posting them.
I have a back log of editing that I'm avoiding, but will eventually get to. For the meantime though, these are some older ones that I took the last time we went down to my brothers to visit.

More coming soon, hopefully, although I'm not going to make any promises. I know how slack I am.

And Just a Little More

I've finally started uploading to my Flickr account as well. About damn time, but i've never been very good at doing things straight away. Procrastination in my best friend and my worst enemy. Although I wasn't the one to start a Facebook Group to do with that exact subject, so I can't be all bad. That honour goes to my friend Victoria, who despite all the procrastination, is still doing very well in uni. The same can not be said for me, and that's exactly why I'm rewriting one of my final exams in May.

But anyway, enough of that, what I really came here to say is here, this is my Flickr:

Hailey Jean Flickr

I seem to have lost a whole thing of discs that have the majority of my photos on them, so really hoping they turn up soon other wise I'm slightly screwed. Please please please magically appear!
In other great news, I sold two photos from my Folksy store. Thank you Grayness for being my first customer. Hopefully you won't be the last!

And lastly, two photo's from my recent edit session

There are a few more online, and I'll hopefully be adding more tomorrow, as long as I don't get distracted by Procrastinators United

Goodnight x

Self Promotion

I've finally started setting up my shop on Folksy. There's only one item on there at the moment, but by next week there should be more prints as well as some handmade cards.

You can find them here:
Just A Step Away

The cards will be a combination of my photos and some other crafty things, having not made one yet, i have no idea if I'm going to be able to transfer the idea I have in my head, on to paper, but we'll see.

Nunhead Cemetery

Today seems the perfect day to post Cemetery photo's. It's grey and cold outside and inside isn't much better, having been battling with my head and digestive system for most of the morning. Not sure what the problem is, but I'd like to go on day without feeling like something is wrong.

Moving on from that, and to yesterday, which was a slightly more productive day, in the photo editing department at least. We went exploring in Nunhead cemetery a couple of weeks ago, I took pictures and then promptly forgot all about them until yesterday. So here are a few of them
